How do I use the Williams Sound PPA R37 receiver?

The first step in using an R37 receiver is to turn it on. It has an on/off volume control knob and a little green light that says whether it is on or not. That little light also lets us know if the battery is in good condition. If the battery starts to fail, it will change color.

To use this receiver, you will need a headphone or earpiece. One of the most popular headphones is Williams Sound HED 021. After you take HED 021, you plug it into the jack on top of the receiver. The 1/8” jack will accept almost any mono or stereo headphone or earpiece with that size of the plug. You can also use a neck loop in place of the headphone or earpiece if you have a hearing aid with a T-coil switch.

When you first use the receiver, it may or may not be on the correct channel. If you buy it along with a transmitter, it will be on the right channel, the factory will set the transmitter and the receiver to the same one. However, if it’s not and you need to change the channel, changing it is quite simple. You use the little channel seek button inside the battery compartment. It will seek out the nearest transmission signal, and after it finds the signal, it will be locked onto that frequency and it will remain on that frequency until you do something different.

The receiver allows you to control the volume. If the volume is too high or too low then no worries it has plenty of volumes available.

It runs on two AA batteries, either disposable alkaline or rechargeable NiMH. If you are using rechargeable NiMH batteries, it also has two charging lugs on the bottom to fit into the William Sound charger on this unit.
